THE SPOKE & THE WHEEL Georgi Y. Johnson
THE SPOKE & THE WHEEL
As long as we believe in survival more than life, the wheel turns.
As long as we believe disgust makes us pure, the wheel turns.
As long as we believe hatred shelters love, the wheel turns.
As long as we believe freedom must have terms, the wheel turns.
As long as we believe peace demands war, the wheel turns.
As long as we believe anger cancels fear, the wheel turns.
As long as we believe innocence needs another’s guilt, the wheel turns.
As long as we believe togetherness is a choice, the wheel turns.
The wheel turns, as we fail to remember how our heaven is another’s hell.
Yet everywhere, the unchanging center is alive. Here, right now, recall you are the spoke through which the prodigal magnificence spins. Right now, here, unchanging and blissful, beyond all expectation, where death-less. incalculable bliss lets the illusion spiral out.
